We know that spotting reused or boiler plated content in audits can be challenging. To make this easier, we’ve built a lightweight similarity detection tool into AuditXchange. The feature is a MVP (minimum viable product) release and we would love to hear your feedback to decide if we should enhance it to deliver a full featured solution with advanced comparison algorithms. Notable in this release:

  1. ✅ Available today.

  2. ✅ Helps you compare two audit submissions side-by-side.

  3. ✅ Allows you to quickly identify duplicated or reused content.

  4. ⚠️ Limited to URL-based access and basic comparison logic.

  5. ⚠️ Only applies to submissions from January 2025 onward.

How to Compare Two Audit Submissions

To compare two separate submissions:

  1. Login to AuditXchange as an Association Administrator.

  2. Go to Review Submissions page and open a submitted audit.

  3. On the Audit Submission History page click Open Audit.

  4. In your browser URL the versions of the audit that are being compared will be shown at the end of the URL, after "/compare/". See the image below. You will see either:

    1. a single number "/compare/XXX"

    2. two numbers separated by a colon "/compare/XXX:YYY", or;

    3. a single number after a colon "/compare/:YYY"

  5. From the URL select the first audit revision that you want to compare. Let's call this revision ID RevID-A.

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for the second audit submission you want to compare. Let's call this revision ID RevID-B

  7. In your browser update the existing URL in AuditXchange in the format shown below (don't forget the colon).

  8. Hit Enter and AuditXchange will display a comparison of the two submissions.

FORMAT:
//AuditXchange.com/submit/compare/revisions/RevID-A:RevID-B
(don't forget the colon)
